Changing the narrative on Africa.
Provided by bird story agency, Africa's narrative-change news agency.

My Christmas was on 7 January, so perhaps I can be forgiven for starting the new year a little slower than others. The Orthodox and Coptic Christians in Ethiopia, Egypt, Eritrea, and further afield celebrate the birth of Christ on 7 January rather than 25 December. My social media feed has been full of mesmerising images of the celebrations from Addis Ababa’s Meskel Square and the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela.
Staying in Ethiopia, the country has commenced building what will be Africa’s largest airport in Bishoftu, some 45 kilometres from Addis Ababa. Due to be completed in 2030, the ambitious project is costed at $12.5 billion. In other news of continental progress, Egypt has signed two renewable energy deals with Chinese and Norwegian organisations totalling $1.8 billion, significantly boosting its green economy.
